Handbuilding in Clay

Sundays, September 17, 24, October 1, 8, 15, 22 (six sessions)
Each Sunday from 2pm-4pm

Presented by Christina Blackwood

Cost of the series of classes is $250.00 per person, which includes use of all tools and equipment, glazes and firing and a closing reception.

The instruction received during this class will focus on key clay hand building techniques including pinch, coil, and slab construction, in addition to some surface decoration, glazing, and firing. There will be some attention and acknowledgment towards the tactility of the clay and what emotions and feelings it evokes — remembering what it was like to be a child and unburdened with the heavy weights of adulthood.

We will be using a mid-fire cone 6 stoneware and students will keep their finished pieces.
