Join us for of an evening of folk, blues and rock with Northwest Akansas favorites Jesse Dean and Melody Pond celebrating the release of Jesse’s new cd Arkansas Amplifier and Melody Pond’s Songs From the Road from their 2016 tour.
Local son Jesse Dean’s edgy blues-rock originals showcase soulful bass lines, muscular lead and rhythm guitar, vibrating riffs and sultry jams.
Rooted in the earthiness of folk, Melody Pond keeps it fresh by merging modern indie influences with throwback moods of funk and blues, with jazz inspired vocals reminiscent of Billie Holiday and The Boswell Sisters. The duo has been compared to modern artists Rising Appalachia, First Aid Kit, and The Ditty Bops. Melody Pond performs original songs by Candy Lee and Emily Rowland.
Jesse’s new cd Arkansas Amplifier will be on sale. Refreshments will be served.
Admission is free, but donations to Ozark Folkways will be gratefully accepted, so that we can continue to provide events like this.
